Blood orange margaritas with an orange slice on the rim.

I love winter time as it moves into spring because that’s when you get spring fruits and vegetables such as Blood Oranges. I love blood oranges and their unique flavor. They are richer and have a smoother taste than your typical navel orange. Plus, they have this beautiful deep red coloring that really catches your eye.

For more fruit-infused margaritas you have to try my Cranberry Margarita, Pineapple Margarita, and Blueberry Margarita.

Recipe Ingredients

Ingredients for blood orange margaritas.

Blood Oranges – I recommend using fresh blood oranges but you can also use blood orange juice for this recipe as well.

Fresh Lime Juice – To add a little tart flavor into the margarita.

Simple Syrup – For a dash of sweetness in this Blood Orange Cocktail

For a list of ingredients and amounts see the recipe card below.

Blood orange margaritas.

Expert Tips

Choosing your Blood Oranges – Any blood orange you use will have that classic taste. But note that if the Blood orange is more orange in color the juice will be lighter and you will also get more juice out of the blood orange. If the outside of the orange is more of a darker red color the juice will be darker as well. But there will likely be less juice in these oranges.

Strain Your Blood Orange Juice – If you are using fresh blood oranges to get your juice, be sure to strain it before adding it into your cocktail shaker to remove any pulp or seeds that might come out.

Sweetener – If you don’t have simple syrup on hand you can also use an ounce of agave nectar as a substitute in this recipe.

FAQs

How should I garish my cocktail rim for these Blood Orange Margaritas?

For these margaritas I like to dip the rim in kosher salt and then add a some blood orange slices to the edge. However, you can also garnish with an orange wedge, lime wedge or any other citrus fruit you prefer!

What is the best tequila to use for this blood orange margarita?

I prefer using silver tequila but it truly doesn’t matter. You can also use reposado tequila, Blanco tequila, or any other tequila you prefer.

Storage Information

You can store any leftovers of your Blood Orange Margarita in your fridge for 2-3 days.

Candy cane martini in a martini glass.

Candy canes are such a classic treat when it comes to the holiday season. There is nothing better than combining this traditional treat with a fun Holiday Cocktail. Other fun recipes I like to make at Christmas time are my Homemade Irish Cream, Moroccan Mint Tea, and Vegan Magic Cookie Bars.

Two candy cane martinis.

Peppermint Schnapps – For that minty candy cane flavor in the cocktail.

White Chocolate Liquor – To help balance out the peppermint flavor in the drink by adding in a taste of sweetness.

Milk – A creamy element for this festive Christmas cocktail.

Two peppermint martinis.

FAQs

This Candy Cane Martini is strong, how can I dilute this drink to not make it as strong?

If you are wanting a weaker martini, I would recommend only using half of each alcoholic ingredient.

What if I only want a hint of peppermint in my candy cane martini?

Peppermint is definitely a powerful flavor. If you want some peppermint flavor I would recommend adding ½ or even ¼ of the peppermint schnapps amount.

What other garnishes can I use for this White Chocolate Peppermint Martini?

Other garnishes you can use for these festive drinks would be whipping cream, peppermint bark, or even adding red sprinkles along the rim of the glass.

Lavender martinis surrounded by lavender sprigs.

When I initially think of lavender, I think of a scent. Usually a candle burning in my house. But lavender is so much more than that. It’s an herb that has a myriad of uses. This Lavender martini is an aromatic cocktail that will send your taste buds dancing!

Flavored martinis are my favorite! For more martini recipes you have to try my Sour Apple Martini, Espresso Martini, and Cucumber Martini!

Recipe Ingredients

Lavender martinis with lemon slices around.

Gin – I use Empress Gin because it has a purple tone to it, enhancing the overall color of the martini.

Lavender Simple Syrup – To add in an aromatic sweet lavender flavor.

Fresh Lemon Juice – To bring in some acidity to the overall beverage.

For a full list of ingredients and amounts see the recipe card below.

How to Make a Lavender Martini

Step #1: Add a handful of ice to your cocktail shaker.

Step #2: Next, pour in 2 ½ ounces gin, 1 ounce lavender syrup, and ½ ounce lemon juice into the shaker.

Step #3: Shake vigorously for about 15 seconds.

Step #4: Strain into a chilled martini glass, garnish with a sprig of lavender, and enjoy!

Lavender martini.

Expert Tips

Chilled Martini Glass – To chill your martini glass you can either fill the martini glass with ice cubes or place the martini glass in your freezer for 10-15 minutes.

Vermouth – To make this more like a classic martini you can take ½ ounce of dry vermouth, swirl it around in your martini glass and discard of it before adding in the Lavender Martini.

FAQs

Do I have to use gin in this Lavender Martini?

No. This recipe would work with 2 ½ ounce vodka or even lavender vodka as well. Use whichever you prefer when it comes to liquor.

What other garnishes can I use for my cocktail glass?

If you are not able to find dried lavender sprigs you can also use a lemon slice or even a lemon peel to garnish on the rim of the glass.

This Cucumber Martini recipe is composed of fresh cucumbers, lime juice, and basil leaves to create a crisp and flavor-packed cocktail!

Cucumber martini on a cutting board.

This Cucumber Martini is going to become your new favorite summertime cocktail! Infused with fresh lime juice and basil leaves it packs a punch when it comes to flavor. I always want lots of flavor in my martinis like my Baileys Chocolate Martini and Sour Apple Martini and this drink is no different.

Recipe Ingredients

Fresh Cucumbers – Gives that crisp clean taste of cucumbers.

Simple Syrup – A hint of sweetness to round out the composition of the martini.

Basil Leaves – Adds a bold, earthy flavor into the martini.

Variation

A classic martini typically uses vermouth which I did not include in this specific recipe. To make this a proper martini, there are a couple steps to follow. First, place your favorite cocktail glass in the freezer. Then, once chilled, remove and add ½ oz of dry vermouth. Swirl the vermouth around the glass and then discard it in the sink.

How to Make a Cucumber Martini

Step #1: Add fresh chopped cucumbers, fresh basil leaves, and simple syrup into your cocktail shaker.

Step #2: Using a cocktail muddler, muddle cucumbers in the shaker to release the juices for about 1 minute.

Cucumbers being muddled in a cocktail shaker.

Step #3: Next, add ice, vodka and lime juice into the shaker and shake vigorously for 30 seconds.

Step #4: Using a strainer, pour and strain the martini into a martini glass to catch any cucumber pieces or seeds from muddling.

Cucumber martini being strained into a martini glass.

Step #5: Finally, garnish with a slice of fresh cucumber and basil leaf then serve and enjoy!

Cucumber martini on a cutting board.

Expert Tips

Muddling The Cucumbers – It’s important to chop the cucumbers before adding them to the cocktail shaker. In addition, the longer you muddle the cucumber mixture the more cucumber liquid and flavoring you will have for your cocktail.

Adjust Basil Based on Preference – This recipe calls for 2 basil leaves, but leaves can be anywhere from tiny to giant. I like two average sized leaves because I love basil flavor. Note basil is a strong herb so be sure to use more or less based on your personal preference.

FAQs

Do I have to use vodka in my cucumber martini?

No. This recipe works great with both vodka and gin. Use your favorite liquor for this recipe!

What other herbs could I use in this cucumber martini?

Other popular herbs for a cucumber martini are fresh mint leaves, dill, or even cilantro depending upon your desired flavor.

Brown sugar glaze on a spoon dripping back into a jar.

It is the holiday season which is always my favorite time of year when it comes to food. This brown sugar glaze is a perfect sauce to pour on ultimately anything.

This is my go-to ham glaze recipe. I love how the molasses in the light brown sugar really brings the flavor to life in this glaze. And although I typically serve this on a baked ham, I also like to drizzle it over desserts such as cakes, cookies, or even side dishes like my Balsamic Brussel Sprouts.

How to Make Brown Sugar Glaze

Assemble your ingredients. For exact amounts see the recipe card below.
